Playing full screen video from non-full screen Brave Browser makes browser full screen

Description of the issue:

When I watch a video and make it full screen, if I then make the video not full screen it makes the Brave browser full screen

Steps to Reproduce (add as many as necessary): 1. 2. 3.

  1. Start the Brave browser
  2. Make the browser window not full screen
  3. Go to YouTube
  4. Play any video
  5. Type “f” for full-screen video
  6. Type “f” again to get out of full-screen video

The browser now takes up the whole screen. Note it is not Maximized - you can click on the Maximize button and it will maximize but clicking on the Maximize button again restores the window yet the window still takes up the whole screen. Remember, we started with a non-maximized window that did not take up the whole screen.

Actual Result (gifs and screenshots are welcome!):

See above

Expected result:

Expected the browser window to be restored to the original size before we first when full-screen (by typing “f”) in the YouTube video.

Reproduces how often:

Everytime.

Operating System and Brave Version(See the About Brave page in the main menu):

OS Version: Ubuntu 20.04
Brave Version: Version 1.24.64 Chromium: 90.0.4430.72 (Official Build) beta (64-bit)

Additional Information:

Chrome behaves as expected.

Odd. A reboot fixed this. I had to reboot to turn on CPU virtualization after a firmware update. That may have affected it too. Sorry for the bogus report…
