I’m running the latest version of Brave (1.42.97 as of today), though this has been occurring with several versions before that.
I have my shield settings on Aggressive for adblocking and fingerprinting, I block cross-site cookies, but I do allow scripts to run. I’ve also got autoplay turned off.
When I’m on Facebook and turn on a Reel, I’ll have to push the play/pause button 5 times, cycling through playing and pausing a video before it will start playing.
It’s not a site breaking issue, but I don’t think this behavior is as intended. This is the only browser that does that for me. Vivaldi and Firefox both work normally with their adblockers, autoplay turned off, etc.
