I’m having a problem every time he Brave browser updates itself–The update wipes out all passwords stored in the Password Manager.
This is not a one time problem either. Right now, I’m recovering from that for the third time. I’ve learned that all passwords need to be written down somewhere (on paper) so I have them when Brave updates.
Is anyone else having this problem? & is there a solution?
@SuperDave2 this isn’t something that should ever happen. It would make someone question if you have anything set to erase your passwords or what might be happening.
Another challenge is you did not provide any details whatsoever.
For example
*Aare you on Windows, Mac, Linux, Android, iOS, or what?
- Which version of the OS are you suing?
- Are you on a computer, virtual machine, phone, tablet, or what?
- What version of Brave are you using?
- How did you install Brave?
Provide as much detail as you can. I don’t think @Mattches or anyone here can help much without information.
In addition to what @Saoiray asked, it’d also be good to check and ensure that you don’t have any data (namely password/autofill data) set to be cleared “On Exit” (Settings --> History --> Clear browsing data --> On exit
)
Thank you for the reply. I’m on a Lenovo ideacentre desktop running windows 10
I installed Brave from the Internet after a friend’s recommendation. The version of Brave is 1.64.109.
Does this help at all?
Hi–Thank you for your reply. I just checked & I don’t have any set to be cleared at any time.
This is what’s frustrating, I have no idea why it happens & it just happened to my wife on her laptop a few days ago.
@SuperDave2,
Do you and/or your wife have a system password that you use to login to your computer?
No we don’t. We have just the Pin # & that’s it.
