Description of the issue:
When clicking into a textbox for a site you have a passkey on (in Windows, since Brave doesn’t save/create its own passkeys), Brave shows a dropdown menu with your passkeys for that site. This happens despite all autofill and password settings being off.
How can this issue be reproduced?
- Have a passkey saved for any website on Windows (In my case, Google. I also only tested with Google.). You can see this in Windows Settings → Accounts → Passkey Settings.
- Have all password and autofill settings off in Brave settings. I have 0 saved passwords on Brave and every single option is turned off in brave://settings/autofill.
- Go onto the sign-in website you have a passkey for (Google sign-in), and click into the text-box. The Brave autofill drop-down menu will appear (attached screenshot at the bottom of the page).
Expected result:
Brave autofill drop-down menu does not appear.
Brave Version( check About Brave
):
Version 1.69.160 Chromium: 128.0.6613.114 (Official Build) (64-bit)
Additional Information:
You can see all the passkeys you have in brave://settings/passkeys. This is just Brave showing the passkeys from Windows, so it shouldn’t be relevant to the actual problem, but there doesn’t seem to be a way to disable Brave from accessing your Windows Hello passkeys.
Any and all help is welcome and appreciated
