Autofill passwords are gone from Brave password manager

Description of the issue:
Opened brave browser this morning and all of my autofill passwords were gone. I do not have sync enabled.

How can this issue be reproduced?

  1. I restarted my laptop
  2. Opened brave browser
  3. Navigated to password manager
  4. Passwords still do not appear.

Expected result:
Autofill passwords exist in the Brave password manager.

Brave Version( check About Brave):

Release Notes v1.74.50 (Jan 23, 2025)

Additional Information:
Issue is specific to this laptop I am using.
I am not using Sync.
I can see my previous autofill entries under: AppData\Local\BraveSoftware\Brave-Browser\User Data\Default

However, these entries are encrypted. Is there a way to get these back?

Happened suddenly, I also didn’t delete any apps or something similar.
Guess it was the latest update

Hoping someone who knows a thing or two responds. I posted on Reddit as well. This is absolutely tragic for me as I had recovery keys (unrecoverable) in my password manager. After this I am going to have to subscribe to a 3rd party password management solution, I cant trust Brave with my passwords again.
