Description of the issue:
I have a large number of bookmarks in my browser.
Now, opening any folder in the bookmark bar causes the browser to become unresponsive, and the options selected by moving the mouse over the menu are severely delayed and unworkable.
The bookmark menu in the hamburger menu at the top right corner has the same problem.
According to the browser’s task manager, after the browser becomes unresponsive, the CPU usage of the browser process can be seen reaching 100%.

Version 1.64.113 Chromium: 123.0.6312.86
Mac mini 2018 Intel i5 macOS Sonoma 14.4.1
I see the Brave CPU jump into the high 30s. When it gets even higher, the image can lag and the fan turns on which is annoying, distracting, & loud.
I don’t use extensions. They only cause more problems in the long run.
Shields are always enabled.
Graphics Acceleration, Memory Saver, & Energy Saver are always enabled.
I’ve seen conflicting advice: turn off hardware acceleration. No, turn on Hardware acceleration. So, I disregard & just keep whatever was there.
How do we fix this given the plethora of now closed threads on this subject dating back to 2020? I have a lot of Bookmarks as well. Why would that affect CPU?
