Got the same email. Phishing attack? Links in the email look sus. No reference to this on Uphold or their socials. Only things I can find are this post, one on twitter and some buzz on Reddit. No one seems to have real info.
No, it has nothing to do with BAT. They sent it to all Canadians, same way Gemini sent out notices when they delisted a bunch of crypto tokens (including BAT). You received notice just because you’re registered in that jurisdiction and they just wanted to make sure you’re aware.

It was the same when Gemini delisted BAT among other crypto. In fact, Gemini still has nothing official on their page about it last time I looked. Not sure if anything has changed in the past month or so. Some smaller changes like this don’t get widely announced and people just receive notices via email.
BAT on the Eth blockchain via upold as far as I can tell. If BAT is considered tier 4 it will not be able to be held by ontario/canadians. The list they sent looks like tier 3 stuff.
Update: BAT is a tier 3 asset. so not sure the email actually applied. This is Trudeau/Fords country though so you never know what they will do to help Biden and avoid accountability long term.
Yeah, and not one of the ones listed. BAT isn’t being impacted, at least not at this time. Though with how Gemini delisted and pulled out, I’m not sure what regulations are like and what might happen in the future. Hopefully they keep BAT for everyone.
Regardless, I’m just waiting for Brave to hurry do these on chain payments. It was originally on the roadmap to happen for this year, but they pushed it back. They’ve hinted on it a few times since October, which makes one think that it’s almost ready. But at the same time, it’s long been seen that when Brave says, “soon” it could mean up to 2 years before they do it. They really are bad at getting things done both quickly and efficiently.
Still no answer to my enquiry at Uphold. Thing is the original email said I hold some of the delisted assets and need to log on and sell or withdraw them. However I do not hold any in the list and never have. Creepy.
