IF A MODERATOR reads this, please write a notice to discourage the use of VPN, to the attention of Brave users and post it in the first welcoming page of this blog. This a very recurring problem and some users get punished for using VPN even when using VPN for work in their company!.
Who doesnt use VPN nowdays? I use VPN.
To solve the probleme for the time being I suggest to install tor browser , but it is very slow, or use opera which has a built-in vpn.
@CerealLover Hi You can use a vpn as long as your locations match. As you mentioned, a lot of people use vpn and especially in work environments. I think, if they were to post something, they should emphasize the “make sure your locations match” vs “discouraging use”. Unfortunately, there will be exceptions where you must use a vpn and just can’t match locations for whatever reason. You just won’t be able to participate on those devices.
Thanks for your answers. I guess this may be the issue, as my VPN doesn’t have a server in my country… That is fine, but will this be an issue for receiving payments if I have my Brave Wallet connected to a website like OpenSea for example?
No it will not be an issue for Brave Wallet. The Brave Rewards wallet and Brave Wallet are two different things. The vpn location match issue only impacts Brave Rewards.
If you can turn your vpn off just when using Brave Browser, as @CerealLover said, just check to see if your account is flagged. If you can’t use Brave Browser without the vpn, you won’t be able to participate in Brave Rewards on that device.
