How can this issue be reproduced?

If you are using custom rom without google play services
If your bootloader is unlocked
Expected result:

@pranavvaid it would be nice if you would have filled out everything as it shows when you go to create a topic. I think you answered your own problem to an extent.

Does your device pass the SafteyNet check (Android only)?

That question was part of the template they have when you create a new Topic, especially under Brave Reward generally, at least if you had properly put it under Rewards Support. You’d have seen everything below (and would have been asked to check and answer it all)

In any case, your device likely would fail SafetyNet. Rewards can’t be claimed if you’re not able to pass SafetyNet.

Please ensure that you’ve read through the following topics/pages thoroughly before opening a topic as your question may have already been answered:

Please try to adhere to this template when reporting bugs. If you think you don’t need to fill out every section in the template fill out as much of it as you can and please be as descriptive as possible when posting.

Briefly describe your issue:

What Operating System and Brave version are you using (Menu --> About Brave)?

Is your browser wallet currently verified? (yes/no)

What date did you verify your wallet?

Have you been able to successfully receive payments in the past?

Are you using a VPN? (yes/no)

Are you in a supported region (see here for list of supported regions)?

Does your device pass the SafteyNet check (Android only)?

Have you manually turned off Auto-contribute on all of your devices linked to Uphold??

Also, another official answer for you:

Okay, clears things up. I am sorry, but i know this issue is persistent on github and here.

I just wanted to know if there is a roadmap to drop safetynet and use some other method like desktop’s captcha.?

Because if no, then Brave should not advertise it as a privacy friendly browser as it is doing heavily now, when still using Google’s binaries and API’s on devices, which BTW is only possible on 1/3rd of their device share.

Not to my knowledge. The person who would best answer that would be @Serg who is on the Android development team. Either that or perhaps @Mattches or @SaltyBanana if they end up having time to advise.

At this time there is not a road map/plan to do so that I’m aware of. If we do come to this decision, we will certainly inform the community of the changes.
