No Audio (with audio interface) playing

I don’t hear audio coming from websites through my audio interface. This happens on my two apple machines:

Mac Mini with RME Digiface USB connected
Macbook Air M1 with RME UFX+ connected

Audio through internal speakers works.

Description of the issue:
How can this issue be reproduced?

try to play audio (e.g. youtube) through audio interface

Expected result:

hear something

Brave Version( check About Brave):

Version 1.65.114 Chromium: 124.0.6367.60 (Offizieller Build) (arm64)

Additional Information:
Mac OS Sonoma 14.2.1

Same here. After updating, I have NO SOUND coming out of any site. I even open my other browser (and chrome) and they don’t produce any sound at all. Everything was working perfectly fine before I updated Brave (last night). Bear in mind that Brave is my main Browser.

I am on an intel MacPro OS 12.7.4 (Monterey) using a universal audio apollo8 interface.I am guessing there is an issue when users have an external audio interface…

No audio on any of our Macs from Brave or Chrome since the latest update.
MacOS Ventura 13.6.4, Pro audio user with external audio interfaces.

Same here. And I reply on my web browser daily to work. Frustrating to say the least. Wonder if it is a Google Opus issue?

Same here. Apparently that’s chromium issue. Quick workaround that helped was to set Out to 1 and 2 ( in Audio Midi Setup → Configure Speakers ).

Particular comment helped me was:

The “audio playback not working” for this issue could also be speakers connected to Out 9 + Out 10, and Chrome using Out 1 + Out 2, as mentioned in comment#22, on top of the exceeded max channel count.

Solved with the latest update. Brave Version 1.65.122
