Description of the issue:
On certain websites like SUNO.COM, audio does not play in Brave. However, it works fine in other browsers like Edge. This issue only happens on some websites, which makes it quite inconvenient.
How can this issue be reproduced?
- Open SUNO.COM in Brave.
- Try playing any audio.
- No sound is heard, even though the audio works fine in Edge or other browsers.
Expected result:
Audio should play normally on SUNO.COM and similar websites.
Brave Version (check About Brave
):
1.76.73 Chromium: 134.0.6998.45 (Build oficial) (64 bits)
Additional Information:
- This issue happens only on some websites, not all.
- I have checked my sound settings, and other websites play audio fine.
- I have tried disabling extensions, but the issue persists.
- Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
If you try playing something on suno does the speaker icon show on the tab? Maybe site specifics within brave, could be the tab is muted? Try clicking on the speaker icon to mute/unmute. You can also mute/unmute in a tabs right click menu.
The page is not muted, it happens to me with several pages, not just with suno.com. It even shows me in the music icon that it is playing in the browser but there is no sound.
What about on the volume mixer in windows, does that show any activity for brave?
Yeah I’m not having any issues with Suno or any other site with respect to sound. Using default Shields settings on both macOS and Windows systems, sound plays from the site without issue. Can you share at least one more site with me here so that I can test?
It’s a problem with the browser, not a Windows problem. There are many pages, like YouTube, that can be heard perfectly.
This is something that happens to me with some specific pages.
Removing the Brave adblock and the entire shield still happens to me.
@MagixLive can you try launching a guest window (Menu --> More tools --> Guest window
), closing your original profile window (so that only the guest profile window is open) and try visiting Suno and see if sound plays here?
I did it and it worked.
Do you know what it could be?
I can’t reset my profile because I have too much information.
I just realized that it was a problem with an extension called EQ8.
Thanks to everyone!

I would try clearing cache/site data for Suno (and/or any of the affected sites) and test again. Quickest way to do this:
- Visit suno.com
- Click the “tune” icon to the left of the URL in the address bar
- Click
Site settings --> Delete data
- Refresh the page
You’ll have to log back in – but test the site again and see if this resolves the issue. If not, it could be an extension you have installed.
Just saw your reply – glad to see you found the culprit.
