My sync chain is gone

Description of the issue:
used brave on my laptop which has dual boot, ubuntu and windows 10 yesterday to do some school work as usual and went to sleep, next day I opened it on my phone and it said that the device was removed from the chain by another device, opened my laptop and it said the same thing, switched to windows 10 which was the first to start the chain and it said the same thing.
now I have no devices in my chain.

Brave Version(See the About Brave page in the main menu):
now it is v1.75.180 (Feb 19, 2025) but it got updated to it after I lost the chain, don’t know which version it was on before

Type of devices currently running on the Sync chain in question:
I only have three devices on my chain ubuntu, windows 10 and android phone and they are all gone.

Additional Information:
have I been hacked?

@289wk I have a similiar situation would you be willing to help or anyone else?

  1. You had Brave browser synced across multiple devices (computers and phones).
  2. You got a new phone (Phone 2) and wanted to sync it with your existing Brave setup.
  3. While trying to remove the sync from Phone 2, you accidentally removed sync from all devices.
  4. Your main concern is recovering tab groups, which were primarily used on your computer.

Tab groups are different from bookmarks.
Tab groups are mainly a desktop feature, less visible on mobile.
You had hundreds of tabs organized in these groups.

How to recover tab groups after sync deletion?
