Can't remove the sync chain and restart a new one

Hi everyone. I have a lot of problem with the sync chain. After finding that this option is back, I tried to sync my computer and my phone.
But I found that my phone was still linked up to my computer (maybe from the v1 sync chain), but no data was synced between the devices. So I tried to remove the phone from the sync chain, but it was still shown on the computer and then I tried to delete the synchain also from the computer but it is not working.
When I click on the “Quit the sync chain” at the bottom of “brave://settings/braveSync/setup”
Brave just redirect me to the previous settings page and the sync chain is not removed.

This is a problem since I can’t sync my devices… I think by reinstalling brave it should fix the problem, but is there any other solution ? Thanks!

Thank you for reaching out and for detailed report. Could you kindly try toDisable Sync (Clear Data) and then you establish new sync chain.

Please try the following steps, if you’re on Desktop or Android:

  1. Go to brave://sync-internals
  2. Click on `Disable Sync (Clear Data)
  3. Close Brave
  4. Set up Sync again (they didn’t specify whether could link to prior sync or if create a new one)
