My default search engine was changed from DuckDuckGo to Google

**Description of the issue:**My search engine was changed from DuckDuckGo to Google, but not by me!
How can this issue be reproduced?

**Expected result:**Search done on DuckDuckGo, not Google.

**Brave Version( check About Brave):**1.44.105

**Additional Information:**I have used DuckDuckGo as my default search engine for several years. It was prescribed in my settings for Brave and it is still listed as my default search engine. One week ago my searches started being done exclusively on Google, without my changing anything in settings. I have: turned off and restarted my computer, I have cleaned Brave’s cache, I’ve re-entered DuckDuckGo as my default in settings - all to no avail! I use BitDefender and Malwarebytes for security and run complete scans every day and zero malware has been found for several months and any found prior was immediately quarantined. I’m at a loss as how to fix this. All suggestions are appreciated!

Are you saying that changing the following setting to DuckDuckgo does not change the default search used in the address bar?

My search engine is DuckDuckGo again. Strange that it had changed to Google on its own. My PC is locked down fairly tight using Bitdefender and MalwareBytes. I realize no security is perfect, but these seem to work. Another problem I encountered is multiple extensions showing an error every time I logon. There no suggestion to repair them so I erased and then reinstalled them. It seems as though it is a different extension showing errors each time I start Brave. I’ll look for other messages to see if anyone else is experiencing the same.
