So I have a strange issue. I’m on Linux Mint, and they have a software manager where you can easily download programs. About a month ago, I downloaded Brave from it, thinking nothing of it. Now, I realized it’s very outdated and I can’t update it. So, I went to Brave’s website and downloaded the official version. But here’s where my issue comes in: I now have two different versions of Brave - one with all my stuff and one that’s brand new.
I was wondering if there’s any easy way to completely move all data to the new browser, including cookies, so I don’t have to re-login to all of my accounts. Thanks!
@NeedHelpPlease,
The browser shown at the top does not look like ours at all. If it is, it’s very old. Can you tell me what the version number of that browser is?
@NeedHelpPlease let me ask on something I’m confused and what I think Mattches was trying to get at with you
Do you see how the lion looks like on the top one? That doesn’t look anything like Brave. The one used by Brave is more like the bottom. So the question was trying to figure out what the top one was from.
What’s weird is in the screenshots you provided after, both appear to have the normal icon and show the recent version of Brave. So kind of has a bit of confusion on the icon used, which seems out of place.
That’s just generic page, assuming got to it. But then Linux generally is directed to https://brave.com/linux/ Which did you use? Like is it a Flatpak, Snap, or what?
