I’m a bit of a luddite when it comes to computer use so bear with me.
When I first starting using brave there was a bar with some favorites just under the bar showing the address of where I currently was. It had a X on the right side I inadvertently hit and now it’s gone. I can’t find it or even know what it’s called to search for it.
Help an old guy out please, thank you.
@bmiller59 Just so you know, typically bookmarks bar is on top, kind like you see here in my screenshot below. It can be shown or hidden by using Ctrl
+Shift
+B
Based on your description of it being on the right side and having an X
to hit, it sounds like you are referring to the Sidebar. This can also have bookmarks, but is there also for AI and some other features. It would look something like below:
To toggle the sidebar with your keyboard, you can just hit Ctrl
+B
by default. Or you can always go to Settings → Appearance and enable your Sidebar.
When you’re there in your settings, you can choose if you want it visible at all times, only when you mouseover that area, or you can turn it off so it doesn’t show at all. In addition, you have the radio buttons to determine if you want it to show on the left or right side of your browser.
Thank you, that’s what I meant to ask about the bookmarks bar. It’s up there now.
But now the little star to create a bookmark is missing.
@bmiller59 the star is from Chrome, not on Brave. Instead we have the bookmark thing on the left. If you’re on a website that isn’t saved as a bookmark, it shows with a more clear background, such as . But if you’re on a website you have saved as a bookmark, it shows dark, such as
Again, the star or is what we see if you use Chrome.
NOTE
While you’re on a page, you can always use Ctrl
+D
as a keyboard command to quickly bookmark the tab.
Thanks again.
I really like brave. It keeps me from throwing the tablet across the room when ads cove most of the content.
Thanks for it.
