The bookmarks button is not there?

Hello, this is my first time using Brave. I just downloaded Brave a few hours ago, and was searching online for a way to add the website I am currently on to bookmarks without clicking on the three lines on the right and bookmarks or CTRL + D, and saw someone else’s posted image that included a ‘ribbon’ on the left side of the url address. That ribbon does not exist for me and I have no idea whether that is removed or if I have a setting that blocked it.

I really did not change much - no custom filters or anything. This is what my browser’s url section looks like. Nothing to indicate whether a website is even in my bookmarks either.

I would really like to know how to add bookmarks in the vein of Chrome’s star button and for it to show me that this website is already in my bookmarks or not.
