Migrated from Chrome to Brave and the Bookmarks I imported from Chrome keep duplicating on Brave

Description of the issue:
Hello! I recently switched from Google Chrome to Brave because Chrome was getting to slow. So I went through the steps of setting up Brave when you first installed it and imported my Bookmarks, passwords, etc., from Chome to Brave since I need them. Everything went fine and was working properly till I noticed that some Bookmarks kept duplicating themselves. For the first time, I deleted them as I no longer needed them, but even after deleting them, they kept coming back a few minutes after I deleted them. I also wanted to switch from Chrome to Brave on my iPhone, so I set up Sync between my Windows 10 PC & iPhone 13, and it seems to work fine as well. I’m not sure if that is what’s making them duplicate?

Steps to Reproduce:

  1. Install Brave
  2. Setup Brave & Import Chrome bookmarks

Actual Result:

(First Image) Bookmarks that duplicate themselves in folders
(Second Image)The bookmarks with the red X over them are the ones that keep duplicating even after I constantly delete them.

Expected result:
Brave works perfectly fine after migrating from Chrome to Brave, and Bookmarks not to duplicate

Reproduces how often:
Bookmarks duplicate themselves at least 10 times a day

Operating System and Brave Version(See the About Brave page in the main menu):
Brave - Version 146.134 (Official Build) (64-bit)
Windows 10 64 Bit

Hello there @skully please accept my apologies for this issue. Could you please try creating a new Brave profile and importing your Bookmarks again to see if the bookmarks duplicate on the new profile?

You can open a new profile by going to Main menu --> create a new profile

Let me know if the issue persist.

Thank you, it ended up working! But now that I’ve made another profile , when I try to delete the old one(the one with the Bookmark bug) it works fine and gets deleted but next time I launched Brave again its back

@skully does the profile disappear if you create a new blank profile and delete them both?
