Making Brave browser default doesn't work

Description of the issue: the button “Assign Brave to be the default browser” in settings doesn’t work. I mean I press it, but various links still open by default in Mozilla Firefox - not in Brave.
How can this issue be reproduced?

  1. Install Brave and another browser.
  2. Firstly make another browser default, then try to make Brave to be the default browser in its settings.
  3. Try to open some link from other app.

Expected result: The link must be opened in Brave, but in fact opens still in other browser (e.g. Firefox).

Brave Version( check About Brave):
v 1.32.106 (Russian language).
Additional Information: OS Ubuntu 20.04.

@astrotula,
Thank you for reaching out.
If you go to System Settings --> Details --> Default applications, do you see Brave listed for any of these file types or are they set to other browsers?

I went there and saw other browser (Firefox in my case) as the default. Then I changed manually it to Brave, and now Brave works as default! Thanks.
