Lost Password Data when sync chain created


I started a sync chain from my normal computer (macbook) and logged onto a new laptop (also a macbook). For some reason, when I returned to using my normal computer and logged out of brave on the other one, all my passwords have disappeared. Also, when I select sync chain password, it is now different from what it was when I originally did it. I don’t know if that always the case or not.
My tabs and history are still there, so I am confused about what happened. Is there something I did wrong or any way for me to recover this data? I am not very knowledgable about computers or programming.

Can you tell me what you mean when you say you “logged out” of Brave? Do you just mean you “closed” the browser or is there something else here?


I just closed the browser, sorry for phrasing it like that!

No idea what changed but all the passwords are back after I re-downloaded the browser! So problem solved - thank you!
