Laggy/low fps in general, both Browser and websites

Description of the issue:

Browser animations, websites and videos are all “laggy” or feel like 10fps.

How can this issue be reproduced?

This is my first time using this browser. Got here though some research, benchmark scores posted online, etc. I just installed brave and started using it.

Expected result:

I expected it to be like any other chromium I’ve ever used, or better. Normal animations, can watch videos withou feeling like throwing up.

Brave Version( check About Brave):

1.68.128

Additional Information:

I’ve already tried toggling: HW acceleration, every shield option and ad blocker, reinstalling brave.
I use it mainly on my side monitor, not Fullscreen.
This is on a 7800x3d. Just installed windows too, wanted to try a different browser from the start.

Keep HW acceleration enabled, disabling will cause lag. It will offload all the resources onto the CPU.

I had the issue before trying it off. I toggled everything I mentioned (off, tested, turned back to default) no changes with any of those settings off.

Ok, solved on my end.
Went to windows->display->graphics and added “brave.exe”, then set it to use my integrated graphics (AMD).

For whatever reason it wasn’t working with my dedicated GPU (4080), all drivers up to date, etc. I’ll leave it to the devs to figure it out, if more info is needed lmk.

yeah, still not working for me :confused: so I’ll just leave Brave closed for now and wait until they fix it or update it since it’s still really laggy for me
