Issue save *.torrent file to disk

Issue - This started in the last month or two, and I am not sure I can pinpoint exactly when.

On a clean start (IE quit brave, open fresh instance) I am able to successfully download one *.torrent file and save it to disk on my Synology NAS and use that to download the media via the integrated torrent client. If I try download a second *.torrent file in the same session, it only opens to a blank page, with a URL of:

webtorrent:https://www.xspeeds.eu/download.php?id=(torrent ID number will be here)

XS is whitelisted in Brave browser, ad/script blocking turned OFF, etc.

I have cleared cache and cookies and retried, but the only thing that works is to quit Brave Browser, reopen and download the next file.

So far this is repeatable 100% of the time.

I checked a couple of other sites, but it seems the ones I am familiar with use magnet links instead of downloading a *.torrent file.

How can this issue be reproduced?

  1. Open Brave
  2. Download *.torrent file. download file dialogue opens and allows me to save *.torrent file to disk
  3. Try to download another *.torrent file, but only get a blank web page

Expected result:

download file dialogue should open and allow me to save to disk

Brave Browser v1.74.48

macOS Sequoia 15.1.1

Tested using Safari and it functions normally.
