Is a Gemini Wallet Required to Collect BAT Earned?

I do not currently have an Uphold or Gemini wallet. Brave is also telling me that my wallet is not verified. Do I need to create a Gemini wallet in order to receive the BAT which I earned this month? If I don’t, will I lose the accrued estimated BAT?

I read that Brave now has a native wallet, so not sure why I would need to create one with a 3rd party. Trying to avoid creating too many accounts. Start losing track of things real fast.

Briefly describe your issue:

What Operating System and Brave version are you using (Menu --> About Brave)?

Is your browser wallet currently verified? (yes/no)

What date did you verify your wallet?

Have you been able to successfully receive payments in the past?

Are you using a VPN? (yes/no)

Are you in a supported region (see here for list of supported regions)?

Does your device pass the SafteyNet check (Android only)?

Have you manually turned off Auto-contribute on all of your devices linked to Uphold??

Hello @bigshooTer ,

  1. Connecting your Rewards wallet to custodial partner like Uphold/Gemini is optional.

You’ll still be able to claim your ads earnings; you’ll receive a notification via Rewards panel (triangle icon or brave://rewards) → claim button → and the BAT will be deposited to your brave:rewards wallet.

However connecting to U/G is needed if you want to withdraw/fund your BAT from/to Brave Rewards.

  1. brave:rewards (Brave Rewards wallet) and brave:wallet (Brave Wallet) is two different products.

For now you can’t withdraw your ads rewards to Brave Wallet.

Let me know if it’s still unclear.
Thanks.

Thank you eljuno. I created a Gemini account but it looks like ID verification is still pending. I’ve read about so many people having all the rewards they’ve accumulated just disappear at the change of the month. Glad to hear that they won’t just disappear on me. Once verified, i will claim the rewards. Thank you!
