I have perma blur on every text field unless I am hovering something, then the blur dissappears there but comes again if I hover something else. That applies to browser text fields like tabs but also every website. This is like that since switching from my normal monitor to my 21:9 monitor. I also reinstalled brave and deactivated extensions and stuff.
Brave Version( check About Brave):
I updated at least 2 times since this is like that current one is.
1.70.126
Check your system settings - I’m running Brave (latest) on MacOS on an Acer ultrawide/curved monitor. 2560x1080 - displays exactly like Chrome - no blur. Check your refresh rate, resolution, etc. I did find the overall monitor display to be very degraded if I tried High Dynamic Range, but not exclusive to the browser…
Doesn’t matter if I have HDR on or OFF both have same results.
I use Firefox, Opera, Chrome and Brave and only brave is extremely blurry. All other work fine. I would really like to use Brave again but its literally unusable in this state.
@diggi69 Just to clarify, disabling GPU acceleration is a troubleshooting step, not a final solution. If the issue disappears after disabling it, there may be a compatibility problem between your graphics card and Brave.
Here are a few things you could try:
Check your graphics card’s control panel for settings that could be causing the issue. Keep in mind, this might be time-consuming and involve trial and error.
Check for extension interference by either using a private window or creating a second “test” profile without extensions.
Adjust settings in Brave, like modifying the options for Vulkan or ANGLE backend at brave://flags.
When you turn off GPU acceleration, the system shifts graphic tasks from your GPU to your CPU. While this might solve the problem, it can reduce performance or visual quality because the CPU is now handling everything.
If your setup is working fine now, you can leave things as they are. But I wanted to make sure you’re aware that further tweaking graphics settings could provide a more permanent fix.
