I live in South Africa, and am refused linking Brave to Uphold

I have in the past succesfully used Brave Rewards with my Uphold wallet, but since a few months ago I get the message that I cannot link my Brave Rewards to Uphold because Brave doesn’t support my region. However, as far as I can tell, South Africa is supported by Brave Rewards. The only possible reason could be that I used my Dutch ID to verify my Uphold account. However, this should not matter since I live in South Africa and fall under South Africa’s tax jurisdiction, and this is clearly indicated in both my Uphold and my Brave Rewards accounts. What is happening?

Using Uphold and yes, I am in a supported region (South Africa)

Its the ID you submitted which decides your region. Try updating it to south African ID and you’ll be able to connect.

Worth noting that Netherlands (given that you used a Dutch ID) is not serviced by Uphold: https://support.uphold.com/hc/en-us/articles/360026786712-Non-Supported-Jurisdictions

Many people live in countries they aren’t citizens of.

Yes sure, but Uphold asks both your ID and your address so they KNOW that I don’t live in The Netherlands. When they talk about regions that they service then it surely refers to where you live, not your nationality. Refusing people of certain nationalities independent of where they live is not something that I think should apply to Brave Rewards, as this is a question of tax and legal jurisdiction.
