Can't link to Uphold

Hello Steevan,

I have been having issues linking my brave account to my Uphold account. I understand that there is a region-based verification that happens. for about 6-8 months now, I have not been receiving my rewards. So I reached out to Uphold and it was because I had to change my country of residence from Ghana to the USA. This is what Uphold told me. See below or check this screenshot -

We’re sorry for the inconveniences that being unable to connect to Brave is causing you.

Brave bases their region verification in both your address and the country of the ID you used to verify the account. The error you’re receiving is because your ID is from Ghana. Sadly you will be unable to connect to Brave.

Unfortunately, your region is not supported for Brave Rewards verification at this time.

Regarding your SSN being under review. This is a quick note to let you know I am escalating your ticket internally so that we can take a closer look.

@pkay_27 why are you reaching out here? There is nothing that Brave can do for you in your situation. As was explained by Uphold, their API tells Brave what country you’re from based on the passport you provided. Your passport (ID) is from Ghana, therefore Uphold relays to Brave that you are from Ghana.

If you are in the United States, then you should be able to get a Driver’s License or Identification Card from the state you are in and then have Uphold update your information. But unless/until your passport is replaced, you will be treated as if you’re in Ghana and won’t be able to link Rewards to Uphold.

Which is why i reached out to both parties.
