How to tell what got blocked, where it was, and which filter got fired

My config: Brave 1.77.101 with Chrome 135.0.7049.115, Windows 10 Home x64 22H2

When I visit a site, the Shields toolbar icon shows how many resources were blocked there. However, I cannot view which resources were blocked, and which filter in which block list fired on the block. The badge number on the Shields icon is worthless: there were X blocks, but no info on what or which.

In the popup that appears when I click on the Shields toolbar icon, I click on Advanced Controls, but there is very little of value in determining just what got blocked, where was the source of the blocked resource, and which filter got fired on the block.

I am very accustomed to using uBlock Origin in its Expert mode that lets me see what type of resources were block at which domains, but also doesn’t list which filters in which block lists fired at the web site. Perhaps most users just blindly use adblockers, but I would prefer more control, or, at least, to be better informed.

Does Brave keep a log of what resources or content got blocked, where was the blocked resource, and which block list filter did the block, like some brave://blockactions page to show the detailed information? None of the possibilities listed by brave:about looked like a log of Shield actions.

No, Brave doesn’t offer anything that deep. You just get basic info like below:

And you can click on a lot of those to expand a bit more, but that’s as far as it goes. Just to note, almost every single one can be expanded even though it doesn’t show a +.

I suppose some may argue there’s information at brave://adblock-internals but I’m sure you noticed that’s not really too helpful in terms of what you’re looking for.
