Home page favorites, (top sites), keep disappearing

Any word on when this is supposed to be working? Pinned Top Sites are STILL disappearing. Are they going to make Top Sites stable? Will people ever be able to add a Top Site?

As noted before, you can track the status of the issue using the Github link I posted above. Additionally, you can leave a comment there and ask the devs directly.

Sorry, I don’t understand what you are asking about. Your questions don’t appear to apply to my recent email where you were asking about my environment.

If you can clarify what you are asking about, I would be happy to try and help.

thanks
but as @Mattches said their already bug reported but o am just making sure that top sites doe not disapear from the clear of the history

so if you go to brave://settings/clearBrowserData and choose to clear history on exit then it would make the top site disappear but if you did not do that then it’s the bug that they working on it

hope that make myself more clear and have a nice day

OK, thanks for the clarification. The top sites have been disappearing at times that I do not clear history so this would seem to indicate that this is in fact the bug that is being worked on.

I ran the latest Brave update yesterday and this did not correct the problem.

Hello @GF1

according to the link Mattches mentioned it released for nightly version as in this comment

@bsclifton bsclifton added this to the 1.17.x - Nightly milestone 28 days ago

hope that help and have a nice day

Just checked my Brave version and this is what I am seeing

Brave is up to date

Version 1.16.72 Chromium: 86.0.4240.183 (Official Build) (64-bit)

So, when will I be able to get the 1.17 version?

@GF1

not sure when they will release it

@Mattches so the UA process is to come here and then be told we need to go to Github for UA? I have a Github account so I can login and jump through those hoops but if Brave wants real mass adoption for its browser, sending people to Github for help is terrible UX. The more pages people need to click through to get help, the more potential users Brave will lose.
I’m guessing that’s not really your concern but I’d suggest to the Director/Manager of your UA team to rethink their current UX strategy.

Issues still persists on the news version of the 64bit version on Windows.

My laptop, however, same version, has no issues and can display a lot of top sites.
My desktop only shows 3 and they disappear and keep changing.

There are a lot of recurring issues, it is getting slightly frustrating.

EDIT: It seems to fixed now. I have full 6 top sites even after reboots. However, the function to pin them is gone. Let’s see. This is already a great improvement.

The exact same thing has been happening to me also, ever since the last update. If this is not corrected soon, what is the point in having a “Home Page”? Also, I’ve noticed that Brave is using more computer resources now, as opposed to when I first installed it. That was the only reason I installed it… because Chrome opened a ton of entries. When I first installed Brave, it didn’t do that and I was able to run other programs while also surfing the net…but now it does and I only have one extension. Even after disabling that extension, Brave has several entries for processor… and downloads are as slow as if I was using Chrome. Why, And what happened? I’m getting a bit discouraged, I made Brave my default browser, but if they are gonna act the same as Goggle Chrome…then I’ll choose Google Chrome over Brave as it is most widely accepted! I have found that many popular sites will not load if using Brave, but will load if using Goggle Chrome! The one feature I liked was the way Brave displayed my Top sites and last visited. But now that doesn’t work???

By the way…I haven’t changed anything. I went with default setup…so it’s definitely not something I have done…it’s a problem with last update!
