Description of the issue:
after highlighting text then right-clicking on “search Google for xxxx” the links on the tab that opens are not active,
then clicking on what appears to be a link opens a random page or sometimes a Bing page

Highlight text on a web page
right click to get context menu
select “search Google for xxxxxxx”
new tab opens with Google results
click on a link (which is not active)
a random page seem to open

links should be active
I should be able to select a link result for my search term

able to reproduce it with consistency

Thanks for reaching out. Testing on my end, I’m able to do this on macOS, Win10 and Linux systems without issue. Can you elaborate a bit more on what you mean when you say inactive links?
weird that particular behavior seemed to have cleared up with a new version…?
but a variation on that is to
type a search term into the url bar at the top of the browser
hit enter
wait until page loads completely - and do NOT scroll on that page that loaded
once page is fully loaded
hover cursor over a link
link doesn’t become active when mouse is over link
if you are working fast clicking on what you think is the link your cursor is over
brings you to some random page
this is intermittent since I cannot reproduce this behavior with any consistency
I open a new tab first
I typically have many (15 - 20) tabs open at any given time
then enter a search term into the url bar
what is more odd is that if I search for a term like “asdf” it happens (non-active link) the first time
but if I search for that same term again it doesn’t happen
so I just opened a 20th tab
searched for “ghjk” and the links were not active when I hover over them with the cursor
possibly a plug in is causing the issue?
also, it doesn’t happen consistently
