Hey all. I know I’ve seen some topics in various places where people have shared that their Uphold account recently had been closed. A few of who claimed they did nothing but link Brave and then suddenly received the email from Uphold saying they no longer could be offered an account. I’m talking things like you see below:

I’m wanting to try to track how many are having this issue. So thought I’d just have this topic asking for people to post/reply. If you did receive this email from Uphold, please answer the following:

  • How long had you used your Uphold account?

  • What country do you live in?

  • Did you use ID for the region you live in or for a different country?

  • How long ago did they close your account?

  • Did you contact Uphold support? If so, what was the result?

I’m trying to gather these statistics and information as I brought it up to Brave recently. If this is a big issue, they might look into it. At least it’s good to track to see how big or small of an issue it is in regards to accounts being closed.

@MarcusMercer @Mr.robot @MichaelStan @mertwix I know you four were ones who had posted about it. I can’t find topics of others. I see that one had been unlisted for one reason or another, so it can be hard to backtrack and find them. If you can start off with questions I’ve asked on this, would be helpful. Then I just hope if anyone else, they can post here with info as well.

  5. Yes I contacted them. They said I am permanently banned from using Uphold. I explaind them there is nothing suspicious but yet no outcome

Brave rewards withdrawl to uphold wallets have been put on hold for India region since months (since may or june i guess). You are saying you got mail from Uphold 3-4 days ago. So how have you been getting BAT into your wallet all this time ?

Looks like you tried some tricks from youtube, most probably the trick of tipping yourself by using a creator account. And in both creator and normal account, you may have used the same uphold account and same network. That’s why system flagged your account [hence in your screenshot uphold support used the word ‘deceit’ and ‘suspecious’ and used by multiple parties].

P.S: This is just a speculation of what may have happened. No reason why uphold will ban account

this can be true ,but not in my case ,i do have creater account ,but no one tipped me ,still they closed my account ,however they started it again

no man. Yeah Brave reward withdraw holds for india but somehow it keeps coming in my uphold wallet. I didn’t do any trick or whatever you mentioned. I am also surprised when they used deceit word. I am like what ! I am just using this uphold for Brave rewards and also enabled 2FA authentication. I don’t know

they are providing third class service with their dumb AI. Only one good thing I have done is that I never invested in anything in uphold. Brave should consider wallets like metamask or trust

    the past week I found that my account was under “revision”. Today they closed my account.
  • Did you contact Uphold support? If so, what was the result?
    Yes, They said “lamentamos informarte que tu cuenta permanecerá cerrada. Ten en cuenta que también se cerrará cualquier cuenta nueva que crees en el futuro.” (sorry to inform that your account will remain closed and any other new account that I create will be closed too :frowning: )
