Got "This setting is managed by your administrator" in Sync Settings

Got “This setting is managed by your administrator” in Sync Settings.
There is no Policy or Management in my system or browser.

System: Windows 11 22H2
Brave Version: Version 1.61.114 Chromium: 120.0.6099.199 (Official Build) (64-bit)

I am getting this error as well. Whenever I try to adjust the sync settings it, it does not save. This computer is my personal PC & is not managed by any organization or have any policies set.

Did anyone figure this out?

I have the same problem. Using latest version of Brave on Windows 11.

I managed to fix it as follows:

  1. Uninstalled and reinstalled Brave.
  2. Created a new sync chain:
  • After doing this, the sync options were no longer managed by the administrator.
  1. Deleted the new sync chain.
  2. Imported my previous (old) sync chain.

Now, it works!
