Google Voice Auto-Play Sound Error

Hello, Google Voice gives an error by default on Brave.

“Your browser might prevent calls from ringing. Change your browser settings to allow voice.google.com to play sound.”

There was a topic about this before:

In order to fix it, you need to enable an auto-play or sound setting.

In other Browsers this is how you fix it:

In Chrome it’s chrome://settings/content/sound > Allow sites to play sound

In Edge it’s Settings > Media autoplay > Allow > Add “voice.google.com

In Safari it’s Safari > Settings for this website > Auto-Play > Allow All Auto-Play

In Firefox it’s Permissions > Autoplay > Allow Audio and Video

What is the Brave equivalent?

@livejamie,

  • You can go to brave://settings/content/sound
  • You can navigate directly Menu --> Settings - Privacy & Security --> Site and Shields settings --> Sound [or] Autoplay
  • Or the easiest way is the same way as Safari — visit the site, click the “tune” icon on the left of the address bar (shown below), then Site settings --> Autoplay [or] Sound

Great response. Navigating to brave://settings/content/sound and adding “voice.google.com” to the allowed list fixes the error. Thank you.

@Revived, this is the solution to the post you made back in January that is now locked.
