Google logo in my address bar when using Brave

Description of the issue: I see google logo and get google search when using BRAVE browser.
How can this issue be reproduced?

  1. Google logo shows up in my address bar when using Brave
  2. Google search show up when using Brave
  3. I am on a MAC

Expected result: I thought Brave was a browser on its own. Want to get away from Google.

Brave Version( check About Brave): I am new to Brave and have the latest version

most probably that the icon of the default search engine you choose to change that go to
brave://settings/searchEngines and choose different search engine and set it as default

duckduckgo is good choice for privacy point of view

brave is browser and it does not have it’s own search engine that why you would need one to search on internet

google / duckduckgo / yahoo / bing /yandex /startpage and much more offer search engine
