I’m curious if you have a “autohide” function enabled (or something similar) on your taskbar? I’ve seen issues like this a while back in Windows (I’m aware your on Linux mint) that was caused by auto-hide functionality.
“autohide” is not in use. (i remember when windows had this problem with the autohide enabled )
I have tested turning the autohide(Linux) feature to ON to see if it makes a difference with no luck.
I don’t have this issue with any other fullscreen video player.

Apologies for the late response – I’m just now returning from some time off.
Can you try disabling Hardware Acceleration to see if that helps the full-screen video issue?
Settings --> Additional Settings --> System --> Hardware Acceleration
