I downloaded the same 2.79 GB file twice. After having confirmed the download I can’t find the file and its duplicate, without being able to use both, without being able to delete them, with 5.6 GB of wasted space that has become unusable.
Due to Android security restrictions, the default download path of Brave Browser should be (but I’m not sure about this statement):
MyTab***\Internal Storage\Android\data\com.brave.browser\files\Download
The directory is not directly accessible from the tablet, however it is accessible from the PC. I have enabled the display of hidden and system files. I also performed a search for the two files on the tablet, without finding them
Where are they? How do I find them? At least to delete them?
Were you able to find your downloads through the native file manager? Samsung does have their own version, and Google has a file manager available in the Play Store.
Thanks for your patience sean.red I tried with multiple file managers, including the Samsung one: I found nothing.
I also did a thorough search for the file directly from the android file manager.
Furthermore, as you may know, some directories are not accessible from android 14. Specifically from android I cannot access \MyTab\Internal storage\Android\data\com.brave.browser\files\Download, even if I grant permissions!
I could only access the tablet from the PC, via USB
Obviously if you know a method to access the android\data*.* directories from the tablet please tell me how to do it.
Have you considered enabling developer mode on the tablet before attempting to access the directory? This step might seem obvious, but it’s often overlooked and could potentially resolve the issue.
On my Samsung, when I download a file in a web browser, the file is stored in Samsung’s “My Files” app under the category “Downloads”. I’m not sure the full path on my device, but that is how I find the files.
