Excessive CPU usage when using YouTube or any video website

Description of the issue:
Brave Browser is taking up an excessive amount of CPU, even after updating to the latest version or beta build. This happens especially when using YouTube but I’ve also noted that CPU usage spikes up when opening new tabs and searching in them. The issue also doesn’t get resolved based on the state of hardware acceleration, I tried disabling but to no avail. I really like brave so it’s a shame, I hope this issue is addressed and fixed since I don’t want to switch browsers.

Reproduces how often:
Whenever I use YouTube or video websites in general (ex. Google Meet, Netflix)

Brave Version
Version 1.8.96 Chromium: 81.0.4044.138 (Official Build) (64-bit) - althought the issue persists on the previous version and in the latest beta build.
