The new brave element blocker when you select it from the right click context menu in the browser has always been worse than the ublock origin blocker, for example, on the ublock origin blocker you can preview before you create a filter to remove the element, not only that, the recent overhaul of the design of the brave element blocker has decreased functionality. For context (I am not very good at explaining) the element blocker used to stay on a dropdown (for example search suggestion bar at search.brave.com) and I could select an element in the search suggestions, but now, when I select the element blocker with the search suggestion bar dropdown, it will remove focus and go to the main page and select the element that my mouse clicked outside of the dropdown, I will upload a video demonstration for an easier understanding. https://files.catbox.moe/63vxdg.mp4
Example of steps to hide / block an element:
That is using the old brave element blocker which I would prefer, and respectfully it isn’t what I asked.
How to more precisely select an element to hide:
Using a Windows OS 11 machine, and Brave Browser v1.75.178, New Private Window, with GLOBAL Brave Shields Block Scripts
ENABLED, but Site-Specific Brave Shields Block Scripts
DISABLED, and cookies allowed in general . . .
I visited https://search.brave.com
and right-clicked on an element in the Brave Search window; and then selected Inspect
from the pop-up window that displayed.
Then, the Brave Browser > Developer Tools window was displayed. I arranged the Developer Tools window, so its structural area that corresponds with the Brave Search webpage element, are aligned horizontally - in order to show their relationship.
Next, I hovered the mouse over the white-boundary area (on the right), and that caused the element area (on the left) to be highlighted as you see:
Next, I hovered the mouse a little bit higher up, above the initial position where I had the mouse, and that caused a slightly larger webpage element area to be highlighted (on the left):
Next, I again hovered the mouse a little bit higher up, above the last position where I had the mouse, and that caused, again, a larger webpage element area to be highlighted - this larger highlighted area, spanning elements contained within its boundary (on the left):
I could have chosen any of the three element areas, for hiding the element. I settled on the third - for the largest area - and clicked the right mouse button, that produced a pop-up menu window (over on the far right) . . . in which, I selected Hide Element

Thank you, this worked, I hope the Brave Developers see this and either add the old element picker back or improve the new blocker so it works easier. Thank you.
Btw, @jyhetzyq you got it all squared away, right? Big thing that worked better for me is just using uBlock Origin for their element picker. It definitely works better than Brave’s for now.
Btw, two rules I found to work for now to remove the AI from search are:
search.brave.com###submit-llm-button
search.brave.com##.svelte-sufnsi.llm.t-secondary.desktop-large-regular.suggestion
The top one removes the little button on the right. The bottom rule is what gets rid of the Answer With AI on the drop down box.
Honestly, I think that in part just is Brave Search. I had issues for a moment when trying to use uBlock Origin’s picker as well. They have some layers on top that seems like it existed to try to prevent people from picking the element.
Honestly, Brave Search has some really bad design that is not user friendly and keeps trying to force things on people. Anything at all related to AI should go away when people disable it. I don’t get why they keep the buttons listed.
