Complaint About "Block Elements" Feature on Android & Request for Improvement

Dear Brave Support Team,

I appreciate Brave’s commitment to user privacy and control, but I’d like to express my frustration with the “Block Elements” feature on Android. It is unnecessarily complicated to use compared to the desktop version.

Issues with the Current Android Implementation:

  1. Cumbersome Navigation – On desktop, blocking an element is as simple as right-clicking, selecting “Block element,” and highlighting what to block. In contrast, on Android, we must go through multiple steps:

Open Settings

Navigate to Shields & Privacy

Go to Content Filtering → Custom Filter

Manually enter filter rules without an easy way to copy a selector (link of element) from the webpage.

  1. Lack of Direct Selection from Webpage – Unlike desktop, there is no way to directly select an element from the page to block it. We also do not get a link or selector to paste in the custom filter section.

Suggested Fixes:

Best Option: Add “Block Elements” directly in the menu bar, making it easier to use.

Alternative Improvement: If adding it to the menu isn’t possible, at least provide an option to copy the content’s selector (link of element) from the webpage, so users can manually paste it into the custom filter.

This would make the feature much more functional and user-friendly. I hope you consider this for future updates.
