You can use this to reset 1 device for uphold Unable to re-verify wallet - #118 by Mattches … However, do note that the wait times may take quite some weeks. In addition, Brave is working on a fix to get rid of these limits which should be coming soon.
I’ve been doing the math and just generally saying, should be released around the end of this month, maybe first week or so of April, as long as they have no issues. But yeah, do keep tabs on the first link as it’s where everything is being shared and they will show when it’s been implemented.
We can only speculate. I’m not sure if there’s any official response anywhere. My assumption is that they did it so it wouldn’t be abused. With no limits, people can link as many accounts as they want, which means running it on as many devices as they please. Most of those would go unattended, only serving to generate BAT and pay no mind to ads.
With Brave being paid to serve ads and showing data to advertisers on how many conversions there are, the fewer people interacting with ads or even going through and completely purchases/registrations with those advertisers, the less who would tend to want to pay for ads on Brave. Thus imposing a 4 device limit would make sure that it’s much harder for anyone trying to create what I call a “BAT farm” where they use it only for profit.
Ok, I understand, but what about people like me? I lost access to 3 of my devices due to reasons out of my control. Like, my first phone went dead, lost one device there, bought my second phone, did my brave set up, used it for a couple months, then I had to reset it, no choice. So, lost my second device there, then surprisingly, even my laptop stopped working, so lost my 3rd device! I’m on my last device slot now, so if I lose that device too, I’m locked out of brave rewards forever!!
It shouldn’t be this way. I can only make one account on uphold, with 4 lifetime device limit, please fix this
Nobody knows. Just have to keep checking the link I provided in prior post. I mean, it’s code complete but they were testing it and fixing any issues that arise. Originally it was aimed to be this month. Not long ago I heard someone say April. I’m hoping it’ll be very soon, but unfortunately they don’t tell us all every detail.
