Description of the issue:
Viewing videos or playing any audio on the browser produces a crackling sound. Crackling stops when the tab is refreshed or closed.
How can this issue be reproduced?
Playing any YouTube/Netflix video on the desktop browser. Can be produced only on the brave browser
Expected result:
Audio shouldn’t crackle.
Brave Version( check About Brave ):
0.69.132
Additional Information:
This issue is happening almost every time I play some video/audio on the browser. Even if I pause the video for a few seconds and play it, the issue appears.
Turning off hardware acceleration didn’t fix it either.
@akashchintha,
Can you check and ensure that you’re using the most up to date version of the browser? In your initial post you mention that you’re using v0.69.132 – the latest release at this time is v0.69.135
No. The issue is persistent across numerous sites. I’m sure it is the browser. Right when it crackles, I open the same page on chrome and see that it works properly.
@akashchintha,
Would you mind trying to download the Beta version of the browser to see if you get the same behavior? Note that downloading/installing the Beta will not interfere with your current installation of the browser. You can get a copy of the Beta here.
New user here. Been using brave for about a week. I love everything about it, but the crackling, popping makes it unusable for me. Please fix this asap. It’s going to hurt your growth.
At first I thought is was just bad audio recordings. Then just now I noticed the crackling and popping on every song I was listening to on youtube. So I switched to firefox, listened to the same songs and no crackling.
I did a little more testing and heard the popping/crackling in chrome as well. This might be a chromium issue because I did NOT hear the noises in firefox. Listening to music on youtube.
Having a similar issue. Audio crackles after youtube or twitch play for a decent amount of time. Reloading helps a bit, hardware acceleration has no effect. Also having the audio desync from the content.
