Apologies to everyone for the lack of replies here.
@arianwen27 can you please tell me what OS you’re using? Additionally, is it just YT and Twitch that have this issue or is it any site that plays audio?
Windows 11 x64 and any site. For my specific issue, it appears to be more related to DPC latency, just brave is more strongly affected by it.
After removing problematic drivers related to networking and therefore reducing the DPC latency, the crackle has been greatly reduced. (Didn’t mention this initially as I’m not sure if it’s a different topic but) the audio also desyncs slowly over time, the easiest way to notice is by playing a stream and leaving it, after an hour or to the audio will have a multi-second delay.
I had similar crackling sounds earlier on my Lenovo T460s Windows 10 laptop. Updating audio drivers from the Lenovo site resolved the crackling sounds issue… just posting if it might help others.
So better visit respective vendor site for checking if there are any driver updates.
i have solved THIS issue
Hey, can you please tell me how did you solve the issue?
Because I’ve been facing this problem for a couple of days and I’ve checked other things related to the volume control in my Linux distro, I didn’t find any issue there. Probably it’s related to brave browser only.
I have the same issue, but only when I run other apps that use audio, like Zoom. I’m on an iMac with Big Sur OS.
I can also confirm that other browsers work fine, so this is a Brave issue. Has anyone come closer to any solution yet? @nelltull can you please share how you were able to solve this issue?
Thank you
Same issue has been happening for about half a year or so,
Only happens on brave, i have tried Firefox, and Edge and Chrome, it doesnt happen on them… Only on brave.
Brave Version: v1.46.140 (Up to date as of this post)
Edit: (5 mins after posting this reply, i literally just fixed it, i enabled hardware acceleration and it fixed the issue, anyone who sees this try this and see if it fixes the issue for you)
I checked my setting in Brave and it seems “hardware acceleration” was already enabled, but the problem persists, unfortunately.
For anyone else reading this and want to check, you go to
- Brave preferences → System → Use hardware acceleration when available
Hey,
I have the same problem after re-installing win 10.
It’s a clean install, everything updated as it should be, system running smoothly,
Latencymon doesn’t show any glitches, everything in green field.
It was fine before re-installing, but that copy was on hard disk for years, so
I really can’t remember how i solved this, but I remember that i struggled with this also in the past.
Brave and Brave beta, the same.
Disabled hardware acceleration , same.
Checking sound settings again, same.
All drivers updated, like before.
Firefox runs fine, without any glitch, but i can’t stand ads there
