I didn’t fully recieve my October rewards, I was supposed to get around 25 Bats or close to that figure but I only got 6.7 something Bats. Secondly the maybe a day or so ago the brave browser shows ads but no reward is being credited, I checked with the BAT on coinmarketcap and saw the Max Supply and Total Supply of coins are same, could this mean that there is no more reward for ads of brave browser??
To be honest, most users don’t come anywhere near that amount. It’s rare to even earn 10 BAT in a month. So, claiming such a high number could mean one of three things: you were incredibly lucky, there’s abuse or fraud involved, or there was a major glitch.
There have been changes to Brave Rewards. For example:
- Payments are no longer made for house ads (ads promoting Brave products/services).
- Brave recently acknowledged issues with estimated earnings and made adjustments.
- Brave announced they’re moving away from showing estimated earnings altogether.
You can read more here:
No, this doesn’t mean the Rewards system is ending or that you’ll stop earning BAT. It’s important to understand that BAT, like many cryptocurrencies, has a fixed maximum supply. For BAT, that cap is 1.5 billion tokens, all of which were minted at the start. Brave holds a portion of this supply, while the rest circulates.
The fixed supply is actually essential for maintaining BAT’s value. If Brave could mint more BAT whenever they wanted, it would flood the market, reducing the token’s value and hurting users and advertisers. By sticking to the cap, Brave ensures a balanced cycle of demand and supply, helping to stabilize BAT’s price and incentivize participation.
Here’s how the system works and why BAT payments will continue:
- Advertisers pay Brave for ad campaigns.
- Brave uses this payment to buy BAT from the market.
- Brave distributes BAT to users as ad rewards.
- Users can hold BAT, use it, or trade it for other cryptocurrencies or cash.
This creates a cycle that keeps BAT circulating while maintaining its value. As demand for BAT grows, so does its price, benefiting users who hold or earn it.
For transparency, you can check Brave’s transparency page, where they document BAT purchases for ad campaigns. For example, Brave recently bought 101,579 BAT, as shown in the screenshot below. Some months see larger purchases than others, but the system is designed to continue indefinitely, and there’s no plan to stop Rewards.
I use multiple instance of brave throughout different devices, one on windows, one on linux and 3 different brave browsers on mobile phone, the orginal, nightly, and the blue one. In all of them I had somewhere between to 5 to 7, except for linux one as I recently started with linux mint. I did the calculation before the end of the month the roughly I was supposed to get 24.?? Something or so.
So what happens to the missing amounts, do we just accept the low payout from whats actually estimated?
@m.farhan.np You can submit a Rewards Support Ticket at https://support.brave.com/hc/en-us/requests/new?ticket_form_id=360001302431 so they can take a closer look. If there were any errors, they’ll address them.
That said, the few people who’ve submitted tickets about reduced payouts this month have reported being told that the payouts were accurate. Honestly, I also received about half of what I expected this month, and I’ve felt some of the same frustration and doubt you’re expressing. If I were judging Brave solely on this last payout and the recent changes, I’d be very disappointed.
However, I’m looking at the bigger picture of my experience with Brave over the past 5+ years. Overall, they’ve treated me and most users fairly. I’m chalking this month up as a loss or an unusual mistake. If they discover any errors, they’ve historically been good about issuing extra payments to correct things. For now, I’m just keeping an eye on things and waiting to see what happens next.
