Description of the issue:
I just switched from Chrome to Brave in the last week or so.
I am getting a very annoying amount of captchas. Almost every website I visit, every time I visit them, I have to do them, and I apparently I am not very good at them.
How can this issue be reproduced?
It feels like the majority of websites that I have to do anything with, is requiring captchas every time I visit them with Brave. I play a video game, and just logging into their website on every single one of my accounts required captcha with Brave. With Chrome, I would either get none, or the checkbox to confirm I’m not a robot.
I had to book some park and fly reservations, and every time I had to go through it there also.
Expected result:
Hopefully there’s some middle ground of usability/privacy, that I can set up your average user/friend/family with.
Brave Version( check About Brave):
Version 1.76.74 Chromium: 134.0.6998.89 (Official Build) (64-bit)
Additional Information:
I am brand new to brave, and have not touched much in the way of settings.
I did a lot of googling, and everything I found was quite a few years old. Wondering if there is some setting or something that can reduce some aggressiveness of whatever is handling this type of thing.
Hey, almost the same problem, but I can’t even open the site by clicking an infinite number of times on cloudflare captcha. None of this helped. Tried to clear all of the cookies, same result.
I do not encounter a CAPTCHA at https://www.metal-archives.com.
I did encounter a Cloudflare hCAPTCHA routine at https://rateyourmusic.com . . . that Brave Browser could NOT satisfy. And I do not know how to get around that.
The Google reCAPTCHA and Cloudflare hCAPTCHA (and other routines) that pop up and spoil the proceedings, are frustrating.
I do what I can, 1st with my preferred Internet browser: Brave Browser (“BB”).
When that (I did what I could with BB) does not succeed, and I need to connect / sign-in, my 2nd choice is to use Firefox, and after that fails, my 3rd choice is to use Microsoft Edge.
In all such cases, I try to avoid using Google Chrome ← that Great Sucking Sound that tries to vacuum up all personal and private information about almost everything.
So, in general, there does not seem to be, at this moment, a precise, durable, reliable fix for some occasions of being confronted by unrelenting, repeating:
Google reCAPTCHA
Cloudflare hCAPTCHA
“I was logged out of _________ again!” (after I did _______)
I am sorry to report to you.
PS. I use a VPN, because I must. Disabling that usage, is not an option for my computer ops.
