Cloudflare Captcha Not Loading

Hello, I am having an error where any website with a Cloudflare Captcha will just not load and it seems that multiple people have had this problems and I can’t seem to find a good answer.

  1. This problem happened out of nowhere.
  2. It doesn’t work on private browser
  3. Blocking all cookies hasn’t done anything
  4. Restarting app didn’t do anything
  5. The problem is only on Brave

Do not deny the following possible sources of cookies/javascripts:

  • cdnjs.cloudflare.com
  • cf-assets.www.cloudflare.com
  • challenges.cloudflare.com
  • cloudflare.com

  • embed.cloudflarestream.com
  • iframe.cloudflarestream.com

And do not have some firewall block any; and do not have your “hosts” file blocking any.

Tips regarding Brave Shields:

I have more success, with:

  • Brave Shields UP
  • Either Allow All Cookies or Block 3rd Party Cookies, but NOT Blocking All Cookies
  • Allowing JavaScripts from specific sources, but NOT Allowing All JavaScripts
  • Trackers & Ads treatment: Aggressive (at first), and then incrementally relaxing that setting
  • Fingerprinting (aka footprinting) blocking: Strict (at first), and then incrementally relaxing that setting

I almost NEVER use:

  • All of Brave Shields UP
  • All of Brave Shields DOWN

In other words, I “inch my way along” . . . trying to find what satisfies the website-and-Cloudflare communal whatever (it varies, depending upon the website and its association with Cloudflare).

Sometimes, the website serves the visitor’s Internet browser; but sometimes, a Cloudflare webserver does the serving.

Anyway, I recommend the slow approach.

@fanboynz and @Mattches just a FYI, I experienced the issue twice as OP is talking about. This was on my iPhone using Brave 1.74 (49). Website I had been on is nhentai.net. It seems that it’s related to Block Fingerprinting as once that is toggled, Cloudflare completes. At that point, even if I enable again things work fine for a while.

Also just see https://www.reddit.com/r/brave_browser/comments/1ijf02t/cloudflare_verification_loop_on_ios/ as well. Not sure if is same as OP or different. But at least getting multiple issues of this as an issue for iOS.

Can anyone share the steps to reproduce this issue so I can test on my end?

@Mattches just sent you a short video. But pretty much just open Brave, go to website, Cloudflare kicks up and says to check the box, we check the box, it spins for a while, and then it says to check the box again. It pretty much just repeats itself.

Unlike some others though, disabling Block Fingerprinting seems to resolve it for me. I’m able to then access.

I tried deleting captcha, resetting network, disabling block fingerprinting and none of these are working. It was working fine last week, and just suddenly everything that involves the captcha is broken.

The site works perfectly fine on private mode.

Thank you for the reply, but as said above, I tried disabling block fingerprinting and the problem still continues.

The issue here should now be resolved — can everyone please check and confirm that the captcha loop is no long occuring?

I’m still getting “stuck here” sign, and cannot move on forward.
Maybe it’s just my specific brave problem?
Like all my other devices and other browsers are working fine and brave private mode is working fine too.

I have it on my PC (win 10), and enabeling fingerprinting does nothing to solve the issue…

So this is the problem that I am constantly getting. I forgot to mention, I am using Windows 10, but other devices that uses win 10 works perfectly fine.

I retried resetting the net, deleting cache, and disabling/enabling block fingerprinting. Still no sign of getting fixed.

My current guess:

Cloudflare development is focused on Chromium that is set up for Google Chrome.

Other Chromium engine users, do not get attention . . . until Chromium gets feedback.

Some of the trouble, probably can be fixed by Brave making adjustments; but some fixing depends upon Cloudflare.

BTW, I can get Cloudflare to kick in at some websites, simply by typing fast or reading too fast (and thus, going to the site’s next webpage).

Hi everyone. I’m having the same issue with the looping Cloudflare verification.

I can add further observations, so let’s compare notes!

My case:

  • Windows 10 Home 64-bit desktop
  • Up-to-date Brave browser [Version 1.76.73 Chromium: 134.0.6998.45 (Official Build) (64-bit)], Cloudflare Ray ID: 91b1d907baa95b6d
  • NO VPN in use
  • No issue in a private window
  • In a normal window, right after the browser startup, the verification works - but just only for a couple of times/minutes (couldn’t figure out the window of the timeout or other factors)
  • I always keep over 100 tabs open
  • Happens with Shields either up/down, doesn’t matter
  • Javascript allowed
  • Cookies wiped
  • Doesn’t matter if cookies were allowed/3rd party/denied
  • Cache wiped
  • Newest version installed from the Brave site
  • Fingerprinting allowed/disallowed; doesn’t matter

What’s interesting: the problem is the same with another “high security” browser, the Mullvad browser - even with a newly installed clean one, with one tab only.
My other browsers are working fine (FF, Edge, Opera, etc.)

It would be nice to find a solution because the mentioned site is an automotive site and I’m working with it each and every day, and copy-pasting the links into a private window all the time is more than a nuisance.

Which websites? and specific error codes?

Mainly at hasznaltauto.hu but whichever site goes with a Cloudflare verification they are also unusable - well, with the exception of a private window, of course.

There is no error code, just the usual tick-the-box/circling-circling routine again and again…
