Can't get windows 10 to show notifications from brave

this is EXACTLY the same problem as

however that ticket is closed and niether of the “solutions” work, so consider this a reopening of an issue.

reproduce

  1. I boot up brave in windows 10
  2. I open up google callendar with a scheduled meeting, with a reminder set
  3. meeting time comes and goes, and no notification from brave about it.

**
Expected result:
a notification on my computer about the upcoming meeting
**

**
Version 1.71.118 Chromium: 130.0.6723.70 (Official Build) (64-bit)
**

I’m not sure if this is it but something to check:

  1. Go to brave://settings/content/notifications

  2. and see if the website(s) you want to receive notifications from are showing in:
    “Allowed to send notifications”

  3. If not, click the “ADD” button to the right of “Allowed to send notifications” and enter the websites you want to receive notifications from…

  4. Then to confirm it’s properly set, go to one of the websites you’ve added to that list, then click the little “switch” to the left of the address bar/https:// and see if “Notifications” is turned on there. Such as in this screenshot:

(KEEP READING PAST THE SCREENSHOT)

  1. OR you can go the opposite way, go to that ‘switch’ icon menu on the website (as also seen in screenshot above) you want notifications from, CHOOSE “Site Settings” at the bottom and then go down to “Notifications” and choose “Allow”
