Hi Brave Support,
I’m getting the error “Region currently not supported” when I try to connect my Uphold account to Brave Rewards.
My Uphold account is fully verified and registered in Australia.
I’m also physically located in Australia, which is listed as a supported region.
Despite this, Brave is not allowing the connection.
Troubleshooting I’ve Tried:
- Updated Brave to the latest version
- Reset Brave Rewards
- Created a new browser profile
- Disabled VPN (not in use)
- Cleared site data for Uphold
- Confirmed Uphold region is Australia

@bijaygtm123 when you created your Uphold account, did you submit an Australian passport? Or did you provide a passport for a different country?
In other words, did you submit for a different country and then just did a change of address after? Or has it always only been registered with all credentials showing Australia?
When I create my uphold account I submit passport of Nepal. But after moving to Australia I change the address.
@bijaygtm123 This is the core of your issue. The interface (API) that connects Brave and Uphold shares only limited data. When Brave Rewards checks your country, it relies on information provided by Uphold, which comes from your passport. In your case, Uphold is reporting Nepal because that is what your passport shows, even if your current residence is different. This is resulting in the message that you are not in a supported country, as Nepal is not one of the countries supported for connecting to Uphold as stated at https://support.brave.com/hc/en-us/articles/6539887971469-List-of-supported-regions-Custodial-payout-accounts
I understand you have updated your address, but that is a separate matter. For Brave to recognize you as being in Australia, you would need to submit an Australian passport to Uphold and have them update your account accordingly.
