Cannot Open Passwords in Settings

Description of the issue:
How can this issue be reproduced?

  1. Open Brave Browser
  2. Click the three dots to show a menu
  3. Click on Settings
  4. Click on AutoFill in left column.
  5. Click on Passwords at the top of right panel

Expected result:
List of domains with saved passwords should appear

Actual result, nothing happens.

Brave Version( check About Brave):

Operating system

Passwords working, prefilling normally.

FAILED Attempt to resolve problem.

Deleted Brave Browser in application folder.
Deleted ~/User/Library/Application Support/Brave Software

Downloaded Brave Browser Nightly from Brave website


Started browser.

logged into a website. Clicked Yes to save the password

Logged out.

Logged in (password and username prefilled)

Went into settings->autofill->passwords

Clicking on passwords nothing happens.

Is this still occurring? Current Nightly version is 1.44.40 and I do not have a problem accessing brave://settings/passwords. Just wondering if the latest version fixed your issue.

I’ve been having a lot of problems with Brave Browser Nightly edition I’m actually considering changing mode after three years of mostly contented use. I’m pretty ticked off now it’s one thing after another after another after another going wrong together create a huge barrier in the progress of my work so I have to develop workarounds that always take longer than the procedures I had set up. I suppose things breaking is a fact of life and when you sign up for the nightly addition there is an increased risk so maybe I’ll just stop using the nightly addition to any problems

I actually have all three versions. I probably like Beta the best but I mostly use the Release unless there is a feature that I particularly like that is not available yet in Release. It sounds like you may be happier using a more stable version than Nightly. Is there a particular reason you use Nightly over the more stable releases?

There was an issue report that I think is related to your problem. It is closed and released in Nightly 1.44.x.
