Cannot connect to Gemini due to 'failed' Uphold connection attempt

Briefly describe your issue:

  • Successfully connected 1 of my 2 Brave browsers to Gemini
  • Cannot connect the other one though
  • No option is shown
  • I believe this is because I had previously tried to connect to Uphold, but failed due to being in New York
  • However I think that may be preventing me from now connecting to Gemini because brave still thinks I’ve connected to Uphold already?

Edit:
On the Brave Rewards screen.
On the right-hand side where it shows your balance.
In the top-left corner of that module/
Instead of showing a ‘Verify Wallet’ button – which takes you through the process (either choosing Gemini or Uphold)
It shows ‘Disconnected’
If I click ‘Disconnected’, it takes me to an Uphold splash page to ‘Authorize’ application (which I can’t do successfully anyway)

What Operating System and Brave version are you using (Menu --> About Brave)?

  • Version 1.29.76 Chromium: 93.0.4577.58 (Official Build) (x86_64)

Is your browser wallet currently verified? (yes/no)

  • No, that is the issue

What date did you verify your wallet?

Have you been able to successfully receive payments in the past?

  • Yes my other browser connected to Gemini successfully yesterday

Are you using a VPN? (yes/no)

  • No

Are you in a supported region (see here for list of supported regions)?

  • Yes

Does your device pass the SafteyNet check (Android only)?

  • Yes

Have you manually turned off Auto-contribute on all of your devices linked to Uphold??

  • Yes

Hi @stubbsy, what happens when you try to connect the 2nd device? Is is a computer or phone? Thanks!

It is a computer.

Edit: @steeven

What happens with you click on Authorize?

@steeven I takes me back to the Brave Rewards settings page, after quickly flashing a modal that says something like ‘You need a verified wallet to log in’

Edit: that’s the heading, and there’s a little subtext below that says something like ‘please try again after you’ve completed ID verification on Uphold’ … again, which I can’t because I’m in NY.

Thank you, reviewing.

Hey @steeven Any findings so far? Hoping there’s a path forward as I have ~$300 on this browser and again I cannot actually use Uphold even though it’s technically taking up this slot :frowning:

I have this same exact issue from the same exact disconnected thing. I got 400 BAT and need to use Gemini as I’m in NY and can’t use Uphold

can any one tell how i link my brave browser app on android to gemini wallet,
when i click verify it takes me to uphold verification page
there is no option coming to select between them .

@psbisht Support for Gemini User Wallets in the Brave Android app will be coming soon in a future release. See here-

You can track the progress on Github-

Hi @stubbsy

Please DM with the following information:

  • Copy/paste your Wallet ID (found on brave://rewards-internals)
  • Your OS and Brave version (first three lines in brave://version)
  • A screenshot of your Rewards panel in Settings --> Brave Rewards.

This will help to speed up the troubleshooting. Thank you in advance!

Done. Thank you in advance!

@steeven any update on this please?
