Troubleshooting technical issues is much easier when both the user and support agent practice clear communication. For this reason, we have provided the template below for you to fill out with information about your issue. Please provide as much detail as possible so we can most efficiently resolve your problem.

Description of the issue:
When I go to any Slashdot page, it doesn’t load content. Home page status blank, whole article pages have continuous “spinning wheel”.

How can this issue be reproduced?

  1. Open Brave mobile for Android
  2. Go to m.slashdot.org or any sub-page

Expected result:
Page would load and you’d see content

Brave Version( check About Brave):

Mobile Device details
Pixel 7 / Android 13

Additional Information:

@frogmaw I just tested on my Android and it wouldn’t load unless I disabled Shields. It only loaded if I turned Shields settings to Allow all trackers & ads or turn it off completely. I want to see if it is the same exact for you.

Confirmed! “Block trackers and ads”, when set to default, causes the problem.
I wish there were a way to override this on a per-site basis, like some other settings.

This does exist. The shields lion icon on the address bar. What you change there is for that site only, it’s not global.

But that aside, this is an issue that @fanboynz and others would look into and adjust code to try to make it compatible with the site while still blocking ads and trackers. It’s just them having to figure out what’s going on.

Thanks, I did not know that!

https://github.com/easylist/easylist/commit/cacb66fe WIll fix it, give it a few hours.
