Brave Process Crashes when dragging a vertical tab to another brave window

Description of the issue:

I have Brave running pretty much 90% of my day, often a video paused in the background pretty much always one window on the left monitor and another one on the center monitor, also I use vertical tabs.

Sometimes when i try to move one of the tabs from center to screen window. the entire process crashes. It happens enough for me (sometimes 3-4 times a day) to write this up.
It is not a critical bug, thanks to “Restore Windows”, but it does get annoying

Steps to Reproduce (add as many as necessary):

  1. Have two windows of brave open with vertical tabs (maybe open some memory intensive tasks like paused videos or some web app)
  2. Wait some time (never happens immediately after restarting)
  3. Drag & Drop a tab from one window to the other, if it happens brave will close all windows

Actual Result (gifs and screenshots are welcome!):
I will try to record it but as it is pretty “unreliable” to reproduce it might take me some time. Will post later.

Expected result:
Brave doesn’t crash and moves the tab to the dragged over window

Reproduces how often:
Can’t reproduce but happens up to a few times a day under heavy browser use.

Operating System and Brave Version(See the About Brave page in the main menu):
Windows 11 Pro 23H2 22631.5335
Brave 1.79.119 (Official Build) (64-bit)
Chromium: 137.0.7151.68

@idkwhoami thanks a bunch for reporting. Can you send the crash ID as well? It’s the set of numbers that ends in zeros in the same place that you found your Local Crash Contest ID, Brave://crashes. Thank you!

Thanks for the quick reply, here you go:

I clicked on “Send Now” but didn’t realize there was a new ID being added after a reload.
